Terms of Service

Draft · last updated: 14 October 2026

Draft: this text is awaiting legal review and is not final. Highlighted parts in square brackets are still to be completed.

1. Provider

  • Name: [ADATKEZELŐ NEVE]
  • Registered address: [CÍM]
  • Tax number: [ADÓSZÁM]
  • Company registration number: [CÉGJEGYZÉKSZÁM]
  • Email: info@handballbridge.com

2. Scope and acceptance

These Terms apply to every user of the Handball Bridge platform at handballbridge.com (the Platform). Users accept them when registering, by ticking the checkbox provided for this; no account can be created without accepting them. The contract between the provider and the user is concluded upon registration. The provider records the version of the Terms accepted and the time of acceptance with the user's profile, and does the same when a user accepts an amended version of the Terms (section 13).

3. The service

The Platform is a professional network that lets handball clubs, player agents and adult professional players discover and negotiate transfer opportunities confidentially, with progressive disclosure of data. The Platform automatically compares the criteria of club searches with player profiles and ranks the results; users decide on any contact and every further step.

The provider is not a player agent or an agency: it does not represent players or clubs, does not negotiate on anyone's behalf, does not broker deals for a fee, charges no success fee or commission on transfers or contracts between the parties, and is not a party to contracts between users. The provider does not guarantee that any negotiation results in a transfer or contract.

4. Registration, verification and account

  • Registration is open: anyone aged 18 or over may register. Registration requires a declaration that the user is at least 18; the provider records the time of the declaration. Minors cannot be users, and their data must not be entered on the Platform.
  • The provider verifies every user account and every organisation (club, agency) by hand. Verification is based on the user's declaration that the information provided is true and that they register in their own name or are entitled to act for their club or agency; the provider records the time of the declaration and the version of its wording and checks the declaration against public sources. Uploading documents is not required; if verification cannot be decided based on the declaration and public sources, the provider may request a supporting document. Until verification is done, content the user creates (such as a player profile or a club search) is not visible to the rest of the network. Verification may be refused.
  • Users must provide true and up-to-date information and update it when it changes.
  • Accounts are personal and non-transferable. Credentials must be kept secret. Two-factor authentication is available to and recommended for every user, and mandatory for the provider's moderators.

5. Obligations by role

  • Clubs may only publish genuine, current searches and may use player data they see solely to assess the transfer concerned. The club is responsible for ensuring that its search criteria — in particular criteria on age, nationality and work permits — comply with the law applicable to it and do not lead to unlawful discrimination. The club is responsible for lawfully providing the data of the contact persons it enters and for informing them.
  • Agents — mandate: an agent may only add and represent a player while holding a valid written representation mandate from that player. The mandate must be evidenced on the Platform by uploading the document proving it (for example the HC-JATE-01 declaration signed by the player or a mandate letter); the representation becomes active once a moderator has approved the document — and, for a registered player, once the player has approved it as well.
  • Agents — licences: the provider establishes that a mandate exists based on the uploaded document; it does not check agent licences, federation registrations or other authorisations, and does not warrant that an agent holds them. The agent is responsible for holding the authorisations its activity requires and for complying with the laws and federation agent regulations that apply to it.
  • Agents — players without an account: when adding a player who has no account on the Platform, the agent must (a) inform the player, within one month of adding them at the latest, of the profile, the data entered and where to find the Privacy Policy; (b) enter only true data needed for the mandate and keep it up to date; (c) notify the provider without delay when the mandate ends or the player objects, so that the profile can be deleted. When adding the player, the agent declares on the Platform that they are entitled to represent the player and will inform the player as set out in (a); the provider records the declaration with the declaring agent's identifier and a timestamp. Agents may not add minor players.
  • Players are responsible for the accuracy of their profile, decide which club may see their confidential data and at which level, and may approve or reject the mandate of an agent who wishes to represent them.

6. Confidentiality

Data seen on the Platform is confidential. It must not be passed on to third parties, bulk-downloaded, published outside the Platform, or used to contact the data subject in a way that bypasses progressive disclosure. Profile views are logged and may be shown to the player concerned.

The provider protects confidentiality with technical and organisational measures (progressive disclosure, database-level access control, access logging, watermarking). These reduce the risk of unauthorised access but cannot rule out that a user misuses data lawfully seen on the Platform outside it; the user who commits such a breach is liable for it.

7. Prohibited conduct

  • Providing false data or an untrue verification declaration, or registering on behalf of another person.
  • Adding a player without a valid representation mandate, or entering a minor's data.
  • Using unlawfully discriminatory search criteria.
  • Circumventing the Platform's security or access restrictions, or automated data collection.
  • Posting harassing, deceptive or unlawful content.
  • Using the Platform for purposes other than transfer negotiation (e.g. advertising).

8. Fees

The Platform is free of charge during the pilot period. The Platform's core features will always remain free for players. The provider may only introduce a paid service by announcing it to users, with the fees and conditions, at least 60 days in advance; fees apply only to users who have explicitly agreed to them. Users who do not agree do not use the paid service and may close their account free of charge.

9. Reports, moderation, suspension and termination

Any user can report content, profiles or conduct on the Platform that they consider unlawful or contrary to these Terms. Reports are reviewed by hand by the provider's moderators; the provider does not use automated content moderation. The provider may remove content and suspend or terminate an account or organisation if the user breaches these Terms, posts unlawful content or fails verification. If a verification declaration (section 4) is untrue, the provider may suspend or terminate the account — and, where the declaration was made for an organisation, the organisation as well.

Users may request deletion of their account at any time under Settings → Privacy; deletion is carried out by anonymisation as described in the Privacy Policy.

10. Liability

Each user is responsible for the accuracy of the data they provide. Negotiations and contracts between users are matters between those users; the provider is not liable for them. The provider aims to keep the Platform available but, except where liability cannot be excluded by law, is not liable for downtime caused by maintenance or outages.

11. Intellectual property

The Platform's software, branding and content are the provider's intellectual property. Users retain control of the content they upload and grant the provider a licence to use it to the extent needed to provide the service.

12. Data protection

The processing of personal data is governed by the Privacy Policy. Users may use personal data seen on the Platform only for the Platform's intended purpose: assessing and negotiating the transfer concerned.

13. Changes

The provider may amend these Terms and will notify users at least 15 days before changes take effect. Section 8 governs the introduction of fees. Users who do not accept a change may close their account.

14. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by Hungarian law. The parties will first try to resolve disputes amicably; failing that, [COMPETENT COURT] has jurisdiction. Users who qualify as consumers keep the rights granted by the mandatory consumer protection rules of their country of residence.
